F_IV's bench (and balcony)

Well, here we go. Here's my corner of the 1/144 scale globe.

I muscled in on the wife's jewellers bench which she no longer uses. Next to that is the infernal computer and some rather nice acrylic boxes that I bought for storing my pathetically small number of completed builds.

And by popular demand, here is my plein air spray booth. My magical balcony of wonder. This is where I summon the elements of wind and rain to impede me in my builds. Note how the very floor itself parts to provide a secure location for my $15 airbrush.

Here is my extraction system...

And here is my carpet monster... :D

And of course, you have the biggest, meanest carpet monster of all. I am not even surprised. Great view though.

Thanks for sharing.

Definitely not a ground floor apartment. Now I know why you were so disappointed when Metro closed their city premises, albeit temporarily. You really are centrally located. For those not familiar with Melbourne, the hexagonal building is the State Library of Victoria, so F_IV doesn't need too many shelves for books. I do have a balcony, too, but it doesn't lend itself to airbrushing with a compressor and the views are of shops in Ringwood, so not very inspiring.

Ian, if you'd stood in the street below, you could have been F_IV's Carpet Monster!

I could have stood out front and shouted bring "bring out yer dead!" (model kits) --Sort of creepy, I could have stood on the corner with cap in hand - with a sign "displaced model kit builder" Donations gratefully accepted....

A quick story. Bought a couple of Bandai Box scale Star Wars Star Destroyers, in Melbourne - already had some Tamiya thin glue but thought I could brush paint them. Noticed there was a games workshop not too far away who did have facilities and even paint. Asked If I could use their workbenches and stuff and buy the GW paint to use on the Bandai kit. Nah weren't interested, it was GW stuff or the highway. Meh , bought a can of Tamiya White and some Artist Acrylic Lamp black and did it that way. Made a good Christmas pressie for my Bosses at work... they loved it.

Bah! If only I'd known. What an amazingly small world it is.
